EGD. A scope into the stomach to directly visualize the stomach lining is the best way to detect an ulcer. Many physicians will opt to try a course of treatment first.
Antibiotic. Ulcers need treatment if they are caused by h. Pylori, a type of bacteria. Take care of the ulcer properly and you won't have to worry what food to eat.
What is the best medication to treat gastric ulcer. My stomach produces much Gas and upper part of it got swollen up. Being using omeprazole?
Maybe not just ulcer. Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, &/or pathology outside the gut.
GASTRIC ULCER. Gastric ulcer is an ulcer in stomach. It is caused by an imbalance of pepsin and stomach acid and gastric lining. Can be caused by Aspirin or drugs like ibuprophen, h pylori infection, chronic gastritis, smoking and cancer. It causes pain which may be relieved with antiacids. It is diagnosed by endoscopy and treated with antibiotics if h pylori is positive along with acid supression, or just acid supressi.
Ranitidine omeprazol. There are three treatments for gastric ulcer. Blocking acid using a histamine blocker such as ranitidine (zantac), Famotidine (pepcid) or a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole (prilosec) which are stronger acid blockers and the third is to buffer the acid which is there via antacids (maalox, mylanta, tums, (calcium carbonate) etc) gastric ulcers can actually be healed in 6-8 weeks with acid blockers and diet.
Easy Dx / Rx. If you are not yet diagnosed by endoscopy or imaging, or if this is a self-diagnosis, you need to be examined and the lesion perhaps biopsied. Today's protocol treatments are a walk in the park compared with the horrible stuff that we had to use when I was in medical school. Good luck.
Gastric ulcer. Painful sores found in the lining of the stomach or intestine, also called peptic ulcer.
Not recommended. These foods can stimulate stomach acid which in turn can cause considerable pain if you have a gastric ulcer.

See below. Most gastric ulcers are caused by H. Pylori. If the biopsy of the ulcer is negative for any malignancy and the H. Pylori blood test (or a breath test) is positive a two weeks course of Potassium based Penicilllin and Macrolides with the use of a Proton Pump inhibitor daily (eg Nexium (esomeprazole) 40 mg) should clear the infection and slowly heal the ulcer.
Gastric ulcer. Hi, if the gastric ulcer is due to H.Pylori then there are multiple regimens available to treat it, one regimens includes Amoxicillin, clarithromycin plus a PPI, another regimen includes bismuth subsalicylate, metronidazole, and tetracycline plus a PPI. In case of resistance and treatment failure clarithromycin can be replaced by a Quinolone (Levofloxacin/Moxifloxacin).
Mastic Gum. Try mastic gum, available from a health food store or online. 1, 000 mg/day of mastic for two weeks kills 99% of H. pylori, the organism that causes gastric ulcers. Mastic also heals gastric and duodenal ulcers. "Newer agents for Helicobacter pylori eradication." Giulia Fiorini, et al. Clin Exp Gastroenterol. 2012; 5: 109–112. doi: 10.2147/CEG. S25422.
