Are NSAIDS contraindicated after CABG? Why? How about after AVR?

Yeah, not yr friend. In the short run, NSAIDS are a problem after a surgery due to risk of bleeding. afterwards there is a small increased risk of heart attack. Aspirin works by mainly preventing blood clots from making clots BUT it also makes vessel lining stickier, and causes fluid retention. Same with AVR BUT worse. After AVR generally you nave to be on blood thinners and cannot take NSAIDS wtih it.
