Having off and on burning pain on left side of chest near underam. Could this be heartburn?

Heartburn. If the pain is in the underarm area, it cannot be heartburn. Do you see any rash or other lesions? If you have some skin condition - which is the most likely issue - please see a dermatologist for proper evaluation.
