In brief: Vein doctor

Please look up a vein specialist: american college of phlebology: www.
Phlebology.Org and put in your zip code. Some dermatologists are phlebologists who specialize in vein care.

In brief: Phlebologists

There are a number of doctors who trreat varicose veins, including dermatologists.
Your best bet is to see a phlebologist (vein specialist). There are many dermatologists who are also phlebologists. Your best way of finding a phlebologist is to go to http://www.Acpsite.Net/search_instructions.Asp.

Phlebologists, vascular surgeons are qualified to evaluate and treat varicose veins.

Dermatologists treat diseases of the skin, not veins or vascular concerns. To treat your varicose veins, you should see a vein specialist, or Phlebologist, preferably one who is a vascular surgeon, or has surgical experience. Although some dermatologists may treat veins, not all have the training and expertise for full spectrum treatment. The Am Coll of Phlebology can help at www.phlebology.org.

In brief: Varies

Not every derm treats varicose veins.
Some only do sclerotherapy or treatment of smaller veins while others also use lasers and perform ambulatory phlebotomy (stripping of veins) and endogenous ablation of varicose veins.
