Just started on enalapril 5.0 mg (vasotec) it is an ACE inhibitor. I - is that a possible side effect if pregnant?

In brief: Yes
All ace inhibitors cause fetal abnormalities including cranial malformation and kidney problems in a large percentage of fetuses who are exposed although not 100%.
It is absolutely critical you not take this medication while pregnant. A few doses early in pregnancy are less likely to be harmful. All these drugs carry a "black box warning", that is they are dangerous in pregnancy.
