Confused question. Paxil (paroxetine) (antidepressant) is also used to treat anxiety and pain disorders by increasing serotonin levels in the brain. Paxil (paroxetine) works well for both men and women. Weight gain is common, as are side effects such as dry mouth, GI problems, and decreased ability to achieve orgasm. Paxil (paroxetine) rarely increases depression, but hypomania sometimes occurs. Withdrawal can be difficult and needs to be done slowly.
I suffer from anxiety and depression, Paxil (paroxetine) does not have great reviews. Which one has less side effects, also can I stop Paxil (paroxetine) after 2 doses of 10mg?
Tell your dr. About your concerns and asked to be switched to an antidepressant that does not cause weight gain or have a withdrawal syndrome like Paxil (paroxetine) for the severe sexual side effects that often accompany paxil (paroxetine). Talk to your doctor before you stop pa xil. There is no withdrawal at this point and would not be unless you were on it for close to a month and probably more. Best wishes. Read more...
