In brief: Steroids

Once the ear gets inflammed a topical steroid and antibiotic combination will help to make you feel better fast.
See your physician to get treated. To prevent this in the future you can use a 1:1 mixture of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar and put that in your ear after swimming and bathing.

In brief: Pain reliever

Apart from managing the cause of the infection- bacterial or fungal treatment, to resolve the infection, pain from swimmer's ear can be controlled with the use of pain relievers.
Otc pain medications should work quite well. Pain not controlled with these medications, should prompt further investigation.
