In brief: Could affect life

Obsession is un-stoppable baseless repetitive thinking in mind ( I will have an accident) without any reason.
Compulsion is un-stoppable repetitive actions (washing hand again and again to get rid of imaginary things) without any reason. Usually treated with medication and psychotherapy. It doesnt have any stages but it could affect some one significantly to make him dysfuntional.
