In brief: Infection

Sounds like an upper respiratory infection.
Could be viral or bacterial. If viral, fluids and rest and fever control are key, if bacterial, an antibiotic is necessary. If not getting better in a few days, go see your doctor.

In brief: Need to see doctor

While the flu syndrome can cause these symptoms, the sore throat and swollen tonsils mean that you should see your doctor. He/she can test for strep infection and provide an antibiotic if it is indicated as well as medicines for symptomatic relief
