In brief: Not much of an issue
Babies are born nearsighted, ~20/400 vision & can see clearly about 12 inches at the start.
As they age, changes in the size of the eye bring them into better focus, & 20/20 vision is generally achieved by ~5y. As long as baby has similar visual imput from both their eyes, the brain seems to adjust & accept the info. If one eye is weak or distorted the brain may turn it off= ambliopia.
