For energy throughout the day, which would be better as a supplement: American/Korean gensing or green tea extract?

In brief: Drugs Lie

How about living a life that is free of sugar, fat and to get regular aerobic exercise and sleep? Believing the lie that one needs sugar, herbs or caffeine for energy is a pretty big modern myth to have bought into? Energy is not provided by Ginseng or Caffeine.
Truly.

In brief: No hard evidence

They both claim some effectiveness in treating fatigue, though there is insufficient evidence of proof for most claims.
Ginseng claims better help with memory, green tea with mental alertness. Ginseng seems to have some insomnia/headache side effects; green tea - upset stomach or constipation. It's completely subjective: I would choose green tea. It's soothing. Happy sipping!

In brief: Better choices

I would recommend other herbs before these, but if I had to choose among these it would be American Ginseng; Korean is better-suited for men- see http://www.
herb-pharm.com/blog/american-ginseng/ But I would first recommend a quality multivit (see http://www.multivitaminguide.org/), a healthy low-glycemic diet, exercise & adequate rest. Better herbs for energy include Ashwagandha and Rhodiola.
