How come we got diastolic murmurs?

Diastolic murmurs. Flow occurs during ventricular diastole as the ventricles fill. Abnormal mitral/tricuspid stenosis can produce such a murmur with impaired diastolic filling, while regurgitation across the aortic/pulmonary valves can accentuate flow into ventricles also producing a murmur.
