I had prostatitis (bacterial) and completed antibiotic course. I am going to meet doctor. What will he do to make sure infection is completely removed?

Exam and check urine. He will check your urine for bacterial infection and examine your prostate. He may massage your prostate to see if there is fluid suggestive of infection. Many causes of prostatitis are non infectious. Antibiotics are used to treat the disease for weeks and are often successful. For any ongoing symptoms see a urologist for assessment. Kidney disease may be a complication.
Exam you. he probably re exam you and take a history for discomfort plus may do blood work like CBC PSA and UA PSA may need a longer time to do since you just had infection.
