Is it allergies or is it a cold? I have a hard time telling what the problem is.

In brief: See below

Colds are normally a self limited illness of 10 to 14 days.
A cold may have a fever with it for the first couple of day, allergies do not. Also, allergies tend to cause more sneezing, nasal itchiness, as well as, watery, itchy eyes. Allergy medications, zyrtec, claritin, and allegra, will not help alleviate cold symptoms.
