In brief: Worrisome...

If a headache is bad enough to awaken you from your sleep, or is very severe, whether frontal or other part of scalp (there are no pain fibers in the brain!), you must see your physician.
Most presume a headache is just a headache. But if never evaluated/worked up for causes, particularly if pattern changes, or become more severe, it needs to be. Must rule out brain tumor. If no cause found, rx.

In brief: Get checked

If you have headaches in the mornings or headaches that wake you up from sleep, you should get checked out by a neurologist.
There are certain things that would need to get red out before proceeding further.
