I take Xanax (alprazolam) when I fly for anxiety. How many hours after taking the pill is it safe to consume alcohol again?

In brief: Xanax (alprazolam)

is a fast acting benzodiazepene used for panic attacks and anxiety.
It has an onset of 15-20 minutes and probably lasts about 3-4 hrs. So, you could say that the effects of xanax (alprazolam) wear off in about 4 hrs and so alcohol can be consumed at that time and will be unlikely to potentiate the effects of xanax (alprazolam) at that time.
