For the typical idiopathic epilepsies (those not due to a stroke, tumor, or other brain lesion), there are no symptoms between seizures.
That being said, the psychological and societal impact of having epilepsy (no driving, work limitations, etc.) are very large, and affect people even when their seizures are under relatively good control.
