In brief: Can be

Cataract causes cloudy vision, usually a slowly progressive constant decline, eventually unable to correct with new lenses, worse at night, can affect colors, etc.
Can be a film, but that can also be due to something else.

In brief: Cataract symptoms

Symptoms of cataracts may vary.
In general there is a decrease in vision. This may be noticed while reading, while driving and seeing street signs, playing golf "seeing the golf ball", reading print on t.V. (baseball score). Other symptoms may be "glare", "star-bursting", halo's around lights at night, or even with sunlight during the day. If this affects your ability, then consider surgery.

In brief: Not feeling things

If you 'feel' something over your eye, then it is not cataract.
Cataracts only cause vision symptoms such as cloudy vision or glare, or reduced vision.

In brief: Film over eye

Feeling a film over eye most commonly is due to: dry eye (tear film evaporates to quickly & makes you feel sometimes there is a film); pterygium growth; cataracts cause halos/glare & decreased vision: usually you will not feel a film over the eye.

In brief: Unlikely at age 34

Cataracts mostly occur in older aged persons.
If you are developing a blur of vision, there are many other things that could be wrong with the eye - the most common being simply a need for eyeglasses. Cataracts do create a blur which some describe as like a film over the eye. They do not hurt, and do not inflame the eye. Check with your ophthalmologist to see what in fact is causing the film
