My dad takes Zoloft (sertraline) (~3 months), the other day he needed Clonazepam. Does that mean Zoloft (sertraline) is not working?

3 doctors agree

In brief: No, it doesn't

mean that Zoloft (sertraline) isn't working.
See he suffers from depression. The clonazepam helps with anxiety. Zoloft (sertraline) can also help with anxiety but that does not mean that it would abolish all of his symptoms.

In brief: Not

Necessarily. It may be different circumstances that led to him needing the klonopin.
Though the Zoloft (sertraline) may need to be adjusted. Talk to your doctor about his symptoms etc. then make the correct medicine adjustment
