ENT doc. Any suspicion of a hearing loss in a neonate should be referred to an ENT doc for further evaluation.
Infant hearing loss. Once the diagnosis of hearing loss is confirmed, babies are placed in early intervention, are fitted with hearing amplication devices and are rehabilitated and when little older may be eligible for cochlear transplant.
Needs to an ENT. Important to see a pediatric ENT if you have one in your town. If he has a correctable problem it could be fixed. If he has a nerve damage to the auditory nerve or the hearing apparatus (cochlea) the chances of regaining hearing are minimal. However the child has only unilateral hearing problem, may not develop speech deficit.
