Acute / chronic. AML is acute myeloid leukemia which is a very aggressive leukemia that is rapidly progressive and requires intense chemotherapy. CML is chronic myeloid leukemia and can be treated with a type of medicine called a tyrosine kinase inhibitor.

There are 3 phase in cml- chronic, accelerated and blastic phase (acute leukemia). CML is treated with tageted therapy-oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor. In cml, the response & the rate of remission is very high w/ this therapy.
