In brief: Probably Normal

First of all, how long has the medicine been given.
If the infection is bacterial, it still may take several days for the proper antibiotics to work. In fact, most throat infections and fever combos are viral and may take 5-7 days to disappear and the antibiotics do not work anyway. And the fever of 102, while frustrating, is not in and of itself dangerous.

In brief: All Rx takes time

Even properly treated conditions take time.
Abx take a while to get into the system & pcm at most will drop a fever about a degree & only temporarily. If your kid is still t>101 after 48hr give your dr a call & see if a recheck is needed.
