In brief: Test

Both can cause diarrhea, pain and bleeding.
Stool can be tested for c diff , the cause of antibiotic colitis. If positive need to be treated. If negative you will need a GI workup that may include a colonoscopy.

In brief: You might not

If you have chronic colitis, you will be at increased risk for antibiotic associated diarrhea.
You will need to seek medical assessment if your bowel function changes after you take antibiotics.
