Pituitary surgery is tricky but common and well defined.
A competent surgeon should be able to give you his statistics of risk, but should also be positive about the benefit to risk ratio. Surgery to the brain is never without risk. However, now with microscopic computer guided and video monitored techniques, the risks have decreased quite a bit.
