In brief: Ask questions!!!!
Though many diseases can be cured with antibiotics, not every single disease requires an antibiotic.
In fact, there are times when the side effects of antibiotics may be life threatening. Ask your doctor what the side effects are to your antibiotic, if they may interact with you current medications, if the diagnosis can be caused by something other than a bacterial infection (such as a virus).

In brief: Take them
Take antibiotics if prescribed by your doctor for an infection.
Otherwise, your infection may get worse and resistant.
