Has or is anyone ever taken an osteoporosis medication called strontium ranelate?

Rare. Strontium is rarely used although is theoretically valuable. We have newer much more powerful treatments more proven and less risky .
Only in Europe. Strontium ranelate is only available by prescription in europe. In the U.S., you can only get strontium citrate, which has never been tested. Ranelate is reported to increase bone density, but has also been associated with increasing fracture list. Do not take unless you first discuss with your doctor regarding your other choices.
