In brief: HTN cataract

cataract sx is an avascular technique low risk sx however - important to have BP adequately controlled prior to any procedure.

In brief: HTN & cataract

High blood pressure used to be a significant concern during cataract surgery when we did large incision extractions.
It is still something to take seriously & your PCP & anesthesiologist will usually not let you go into surgery if HTN is not controlled. For small incision surgery, though, unless it is a complicated case requiring enlarging wound, controlled HTN does not increase complications.
