Besides spirometry test, x ray, echocardiogram at rest, are there any other tests to detect heart failure? Blood tests? Stress test?

In brief: Yes

A cardiac catheterization can determine heart function as well as measure pressures.
Spirometry measures lung function, not heart failure. Sometimes this is checked to rule out pulmonary dysfunction as a contributor to the patient's problems. Nuclear scans and specialized ct scans can also give this information. As already mentioned, there is also a blood test called bnp.

In brief: BNP

A peptide released by the failing heart brain natriuretic peptide, and its related proteins are routinely measured by the pathology laboratories for diagnosing heart failure and to distinguish heart failure from other diseases.
