Have a bump in pubic hair area on left side at top, not near vagina. Looks like it's filled with pus and hurts a little?

In brief: Infection

This could be an infection, either a folliculitis or early abscess.
You can take pain medications (ibuprofen or acetaminophen) and place warm compresses (for 20-30 mins, several times a day) to the affected area in the meantime, but you should see a physician ASAP to be evaluated and treated, as you may need antibiotics. It's better not to wait to the point you may need incision & drainage.

In brief: Vaginal bumps

Most vaginal bumps turn out to be hair follicle infections, but herpes can also secondarily get infected and cause the same symptoms.
Probably a good idea to see a GYN to confirm which it is.
