I have a natural cotton and horsehair mattress. Is it dust mite and allergy free?

In brief: Not really

Do not be fooled by the terms "natural" and "organic".
These do not always mean disease free, or harmless and many are not certified to begin with. Your mattress is a terrific hiding place for dust mites and for allergic issues. The best, non-allergenic mattresses are those that use synthetic fibers or sponge rubber that mites cannot live off.
