36 weeks pregnant and have tightness around my stomach and drink plenty of water what could be the problem?

In brief: 3rd trimester

If it is constant "tightness" that doesn't go away, you may be experiencing round ligament pain, which is stretching.
Sometimes a warm compress to the area or Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be helpful. If it comes and goes, it may be false contractions. Continue to stay well hydrated. If the feeling gets stronger, or every 5 minutes apart for an hr, or any cramping/bleeding, call your Ob/Gyn. Best wishes.
