I have been suffering from anxiety symptoms for a long time. Will it take equally long to get rid of them?

In brief: Anxiety Symptoms
No. Studies show that for anxiety and depression, psychotherapy and medication work better than either alone.
So, if your doctor prescribes an anti-anxiety agent, it will begin working immediately. Anti-depressants take approx 5 to 8 weeks to begin working and the dosage might have to be adjusted thereafter. Remember: just because medication helps you still should talk to a psychologist.
