Sinusitis has many causes, including infection, allergy, bony obstruction, nasal polyps, cystic fibrosis, tumors and even cancers.
An ear, nose and throat specialist can evaluate and provide treatment options. To read more, see www.Richmondsinusandallergy.Com.

In brief: Multiple approach
Severe sinus problems are rather common, and can be very difficult to treat definitively.
Treatment approaches for acute or subacute to recurrent sinusitis may include antibiotic, hot shower/compresses over sinus areas, rx of any allergic component, certain nasal medications or saline, at time oral steroids. If problem persists, shouodnc ENT doc, may need sinus x-rays or ct scan, possibly surgery.
