Having extreme anxiety attacks, like they last an hour or so. What can I do about these to at least lessen them since I know they won't go away?

Is workup complete? Were you initially worked up fully from a medical point of view to make sure you didn't have something crazy like a pheochromocytoma, hormonal imbalances, and/or other physical ailments?
Work to do. with a qualified therapist or psychologist. Until confronted, they will only tend to get worse, longer, and more frequent.
