Generics. Keppra (levetiracetam) is the name brand and made by only one manufacturer...Ubc. Levetiracetam is the generic which has to comply with fda to be 100% +/- 20% of the milligram percentage of the active name brand. There are countless different generic manufacturers...If you are worried about the generic potency d/w your doctor and probably get a blood level to see how your body absorbs the drug...
Blood work on 3.5 month baby with convulsions, on keppra (levetiracetam) 2*1ml and phenobarbital 2*7.5mg, glucose level 89, potasium 5.63 and ALT 59.Anyseriouse problem?
Not really. Potassium is slightly elevated, but if sampla was drawn as heel stick the a little hemolysis is expected and this would elevate the result. Alt is also slightly high, but these medications are known to do that.
Mood. Yes, anticonvulsants are sometimes used to help with mood disorders.
