Had a cortisone injection in my foot for morton's neuroma, and my middle toes are now very swollen in between. Is this normal or a shot reaction?

Could be infection. Some swelling after a cortisone injection is normal . If there is redness, heat, tenderness and severe pain, it could indicate there is an infection. If it persists beyond 12-24 hours even after applying ice and elevating the leg, get it looked at by your doctor, or go the the ER.
Often normal. Swelling following an injection of cortisone can be normal reaction to the increase pressure of the injected fluid between the toes. Less often, a mild allergic reaction and even less often an infection.
