In brief: Throat infection

The flu season is not at this time.
It could be a viral illness though (just not the "flu"). With the duration, and a fever of 102, with persistent lymph nodes, I would get checked for possible bacterial infection (such as strep) as you may require an antibiotic. Best wishes.
