In brief: Heat rash

Here are a few suggestions assuming the rash is a heat rash.
1. run a fan by the bed. 2. shower or bath before and after sleeping to minimize the rash. 3. run you air conditioner at a lower temp. 4. if in a house move sleeping to the basement where it is cooler. 5 consider sleeping in the nude if appropriate for child's age. There is no med to prevent heat rash.

In brief: Allergic reaction

Your son may be having allergic to either clothes or detergent you use for washing sheets.
You can try give him benadryl (diphenhydramine) hydrocortisone ointment to avoid itching and sores .Hope this will help
