Morphine side effects?

Many. Sedation, confusion, nausea, itchiness, respiratory depression are common.
To Add... Respiratory depression (rd) is not a common side effect and can lead many physicians and nurses to hold off narcotic pain meds for this concern. I've had many cancer patients have pain meds withheld due to this concern. Before rd, 1. Sleepiness occurs, 2. Sedation with the ability to arouse, 3. Somnolence, 4. Rd, and this occurs only if pain meds are increased despite pain being managed.
