How can you tell if your baby has an allergic reaction to diaper rash cream?

Patch test. You can check just about any product for skin sensitivity/reaction/allergy by doing a patch test. If you place a dab of the material on the fabric part of a bandaid & place it in a location where it won't be disturbed. (back of a baby or underarm of older kid) leave it on overnight, if no reaction within that time frame the product is likely safe to use over long periods.
