Felt many sharp pops where my left ovary is. Lasted about 5mins and pain kept increasing until there was a larger pop. No residual pain. What's up?

I do not know. As described, I am not sure what you were hearing. It could of been a groin strain and muscle issue, not sure if it was your Ovary you were hearing? With no pain and no issues after the noise, I would just let it go and monitor the area. If any pain or problems, then see your Dr. Best wishes. Read more...
Ovulation, cyst. Ovulation or small cyst rupture may be responsible. It is unusual for a ruptured cyst to cause so severe a problem that it needs surgery. If you are feeling better, routine follow up is all that is needed. You may want to see your GYN for treatment of menstrual cramps, and/or pain with "mittleschmerz", what the ovulation pain is called. Read more...

Please point me to where are the ovaries and what exactly is ovarian cancer?

Ovaries are pelvic. The ovaries are glandular structures on both sides of and connected to the uterus by the fallopian tubes that transport eggs from the ovaries to the uterine structure. The surface of the glandular portion of the ovary is epithelial similar to the peritoneal surface of the abdominal cavity. For the most part ovarian cancer develops in the peritoneal surface of the ovary and rarely from the stroma. Read more...

Can I get false positive preg test after having total hysterectomy where everything but ovaries were taken? ?

No joking here. We are a very dedicated lot here. Why would any patient who does not have a uterus or ovaries ever test for pregnancy? This is such an improbable scenario that the question has to be looked at as a joke. No woman can get pregnant without a uterus or ovaries. None. Read more...

Every other period, I have pain where my left ovary should be. I know its not cramps - but its worrying me a bit.

Don't worry. Some women do have left or right sided pain with periods, although this is more common mid-cycle when one ovulates. If there is a pattern of this pain every other month and then it goes away, I would not worry. Women can have unusual pain with periods. Everyone is different, and this is not a sign of anything dangerous. Read more...

Will metformin reduce testosterone if it's coming from some where other than ovary? Thanks. My testosterone is 3xs normal. Thanks

Testosterone. Testosterone 3 times normal in a 41 year old woman is hard to explain and needs to be carefully examined by an Endocrinologist. Why are you on Metformin? Presumably for control of diabetes, but you can get rid of diabetes if Metformin is your only medicine. Your doctor should be able to help you with this. Please let me know how things are going.
