In brief: Of course.
But it is not the healthiest way to deal with retirement, and can lead to a depressive episode.
If the social withdrawal is the only symptom and it doesn't last too long, probably of no concern. But if other symptoms present, ie: changes in sleeping, appetite or energy or the withdrawal drags on, a psychiatric evaluation would not hurt and may be very helpful.
