In brief: Trauma?

Depends on what you are going to the hospital for. Do you need trauma surgery?

If you need to go to a trauma center, the paramedics will likely be able to determine that. In fact, you won't have a choice!

I think that many people equate trauma with " emergency". A Trauma Center is better-equipped at managing injuries that arise from car crashes, gunshot wounds, falls, etc. if you require surgery for a non-trauma condition, the trauma designation has no bearing.

In brief: Trauma Centers

Every hospital has certain areas of expertise in which they might excel.
Some hospitals have many areas of excellence. I would recommend you choose the hospital that you are most comfortable going to and the one that has the most experience in dealing with cases such as yours.
