Pain in left chest at sternum, shoulder and lower ribs. Some extra gas.

More info needed... Chest pain in a 48 year old male that radiates to the shoulder could be a sign of acute coronary artery disease. Without knowing anything else, this is a condition that you should have evaluated promptly. Have seen many men (and women) that came to my ER with "gas" and ended up with stents in their coronary arteries because it was not "gas". Call your doctor or head to the ER.

Light pain under left breast that goes up my shoulder and down my left arm. Feels like pins and needles but without any chest pain. Is this gas?

Non likely. Pins and needles feeling is called "paresthesia" and is a sign of peripheral neuritis. It can be positional in which case it would come and go. Paresthesia and pain in that distribution, which follows the path of a nerve root (called a dermatome), suggests impingement in the cervical spine - often due to disk herniation or trauma in your age group (26). Also consider a brachial plexus injury. Read more...

19 year old female. Heavy and tight chest pain for 20-30 minutes. Pain went to left shoulder and down the arm. Also present in lower back. ER needed?

Maybe. You are young and presumably healthy. Your pain is very unlikely to be due to a serious condition like a heart attack. However if you are concerned the ER is probably the fastest place to get re-assurance. Its honestly better to get seen by someone in person for these types of symptoms. Read more...

Time to see your Dr. I'm trying to follow what you are saying, but one thing is clear. Something is not right. Many of the symptoms you describe may occur from hormonal or vitamin issues, but they also could be signs of a more serious problem. Ask to be scheduled for a comprehensive physical and some lab work. Good luck. Read more...

Is it a thyroid. I had a similar problem. This is potentially a serious condition that requires evaluation. The thyroid gland is in the front of the neck and can be enlarged when not working. This can press on nerves causing pain. Symptoms of underactive thyroid include, fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, feeling cold. Treatment is usually straight forward after appropriate evaluation by internist. Read more...
