In brief: Common problem

The first step is to be evaluated by an eye doctor to make sure you don't have any retinal problems that may have resulted in bleeding.
Assuming that it is a pvd, you may have a floater in the center of your vision. It's annoying and can take 6 months or more to move out of the way, but there isn't much you can do about it. Fortunately, it's not dangerous.
