Orange discharge after taking Monistat 1 (tioconazole) three days ago for a yeast infection. Is this normal?

Not normal reaction. Miconazole (the active ingredient in Monistat) for yeast infections is usually whitish in color. An orange discharge is not a normal reaction to using Miconazole in the vagina. Please contact your doctor for an evaluation.

I used monistat 1 (tioconazole) to treat a yeast infection 4 days ago and I still have some itching and discharge. Is this normal? Should I use another treatment?

You could... Try another 1 day treatment.....or you could see your doctor for confirmation that it's a yeast infection and get a dose of Diflucan (fluconazole) which works very well at eradicating yeast infections in one shot; or if you prefer a prescription cream that works a bit better than the OTC Monistat. Best wishes to you. Read more...

I took Monistat 1 (tioconazole) yesterday to treat a yeast infection. I had pink discharge yesterday and today I am spotting blood is this normal?

Other problem? STD? Vaginal yeast usually doesn't bleed or cause pink discharge, both of which suggest the diagnosis is wrong, or that you also have something else. At your age, the main causes of vaginal bleeding and discharge are STDs, especially gonorrhea or chlamydia. There are several other possibilities too, and all new or abnormal, vaginal discharge or bleeding needs professional exam. See your doctor ASAP. Read more...

No. Pain is not usually with a yeast infection. Other causes of infection, which are more serious, can cause discharge and pain. You really need to get checked soon (in the next day or so). If you have fever and increasing pain, you need to get checked right away! Read more...

Itching discharge? If the thick white vaginal discharge is not itching or has an odor then if there was an infection it has been resolved. It is never recommended to douche as this can exacerbate any vaginal problems by removing good bacteria. Read more...

I used monistat 1 (tioconazole) for a minor yeast infection. I just started like two days ago no smell just burns lil clumpy discharge how long can I have sex?

You should not. have to wait too long. Most yeast infections resolve within 1-2 days of application of Monistat, if it works. Wait until the discharge thins out or disappears, or there is no longer any irritation on urination or hygiene techniques. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap. Read more...

I had a yeast infection. Burning, itching. Especially after intercourse. Took Monistat 1 (tioconazole). No discharge before but have had it since (took2daysago)?

A few days. It takes a few days sometimes for the anti-fungal medication to be effective. Be sure to refrain from intercourse while you're treating the yeast infection as sex can make it more painful and harder to heal. I typically recommend the 5 or 7 day antifungal as sometimes the 1 or 3 day treatment isn't enough. Read more...
