In brief: Start with CSA, etc.
Community-supported agriculture programs are spreading throughout north america.
Farmers' markets are popplng up. Even traditional grocers are stocking some local produce. One can start by doing a search online, asking local chefs or contacting a nearby university with an ag or environmental studies program. Also one can ask people with healthy-looking active kids the difference is often apparent.

In brief: Need location
Sorry, but i don't know where you are geographically to really answer that question.
In general, you want to eat fresh, real food vs. Processed foods. I advise my patients to shop at the grocery store around the outside of the store to avoid boxex/bagged/canned food stuffs (i.e., produce, dairy, breads, meats). Farmer's markets & organic food marts are other options.
