Depends. The long term effects of having cancer as a baby are dependent upon what type of treatment was rendered. Surgery- on what organs, if any. Radiation- on what organs. Chemotherapy- what drugs and how long. Each modality of treatment carries with it its own unique set of both short and long term side effects and risks.
Childhood cancer. There are tremendous consequenses to our kids that are treated for cancer with surgery, radiation, and chemo.They live a long time and can have all kinds of side effects for the rest of their lives. Specifically whatever was done will leave a "mark" or scar.Surgery and radiation are obvious in the areas they were directed, chemo is a little more tricky. Follow up forever!
