No. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) is Ibuprofen mixed with hydrocondone.
Is vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) the same thing as lortabs does it have hydrocodone in it & does it work as good as lortabs do?
Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) is hydrocodone plus ibuprofen, while lortab is hydrocodone plus acetaminphen (tylenol). The active ingredient is still hydrocodone, and the doses of the narcotic hydrocodone are usually similar.
Narcotic. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) is a combination of hydrocodone, a narcotic, and inuprofen, advil. The first number is the hydrocodone dose and the second is the I uptown dose. Ie. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) 5/200 means each pill has 5 mg hydrocodone and 200 mg ibuprofen.
Combo med. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) is combination of hydrocodone and ibuprofen.
Combo med. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) is a brand name for a pill that contains hydrocodone (a narcotic type medicine) and Ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory). The latter is the same ingredient in over the counter motrin.
Many. There are many other pain medications beside the hydrocodone in vicoprofen. Percocet, nucynta, (tapentadol) and Dilaudid would all be good options.
Narcotics/itching. There are two ways to deal with this. One is to change to a different pain medication, and the other is to treat the side effects. If you will only be on vicoprofen for a short while (i.E postoperatively), you might try a small dose of an antihistamine like benadryl (diphenhydramine). This will make you sleepy, so watch out for that, but it should help. Otherwise, try an oxycodone pain medicine.
It can affect sleep. Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) contains the otc drug Ibuprofen and hydrocodone, a narcotic. Narcotics often make people drowsy, but a sizable minority of adults have a paradoxical response, and suffer from insomnia after taking hydrocodone and some other narcotics. The phenomenon is common enough that Codeine or hydrocodone are occasionally prescribed for narcolepsy.
Should help. If it takes away your pain you should sleep better.
Yes. All narcotics including hydrocodone in vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) can cause a laundry list of side effects (i.e. Abdominal pain, anxiety, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, gas, headache, indigestion, infection, insomnia, itching, loss of strength, nausea, nervousness, sweating, swelling, vomiting). Sweating is also included in that list.
Depends... Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen) like other opiates can cause sweating in addition to many other side effects. With physician supervision, you may be able to discontinue usage for 24 hours and determine if the sweating goes away.
It just does. Opioid μ- and κ-receptors mediate hyperthermic responses. Increased body temperature is simply an effect of where these drugs bind to in the brain and spinal cord.
