I got a blood sample for hepatitis test, the result is negatif for A and C but positif for Hepatitis B, SGOT and SGPT normal. What does this mean?

You may be carrier. HBV can be transmitted sexually or by injection/transfusion, causing acute HBV, which resolves in most cases, leading to immunity. In many third world countries, HBV is transmitted from mother to child. becoming chronic and associated with low level but long-term liver injury. It is a risk factor for cirrhosis and liver cancer. Treatment depends on level of HBV DNA. See hepatologist for advice.

Sir, I have hepatitis b, with tests hbeag-ve, HBsAG +, HBV DNA <=20, sgot 28, sgpt 56. My age is 32 m. What it indicates, please help?

Good control. You are one of many millions of people who will probably carry hepatitis b for a lifetime. Until there is another breakthrough, you won't be able to be rid of it, and you can infect someone who is not already infected or immune through sex or other close contact. You do need to be followed, but whether you need to be treated actively right now is up to you & your physician. Read more...
